MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Hotel Marshfield will host a one-show-only New Year’s Eve Comedy Show on December 31 with headliner Robert L. Hines and featuring Xavier Lamont.
“We are delighted to be bringing back our annual New Year’s Eve comedy show! It’s a wonderful opportunity for Marshfield area residents to have an extra special night with family and friends before ringing in the New Year!” said Jill Trudeau, Administrative Assistant at Hotel Marshfield. “Our onsite restaurant, Libby McNeill’s, will be open on New Year’s Eve from 11:00am-9:00pm, with dinner features such as Prime Rib, Broiled Lamb Chops and a Tortilla Crusted Tilapia with Pineapple Salsa, served from 5:00pm-9:00pm. Hines is an American comedian and actor best known for his role as ‘Toby Jones’ from Jones’ Good-Ass BBQ and Foot Massage. Rob has been a stand-up comedian for over 30 years performing at comedy clubs across the United States including places such as The Improv, Funny Bone, Zanie’s Comedy Club, Laugh Factory and The Comedy Store in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Cleveland and Philadelphia.
In addition to touring and club performances, Rob has made several national network appearances on BET, Comedy Central, FOX and even ABC’s Good Morning America. Rob has also become one of the hosts of the New OG’s Podcast and has an upcoming comedy special titled ‘LOCKDOWN’ releasing soon.
Rob looks forward to sharing his upcoming comedy special about his time working in the jail system and hopes it will help others recognize the value of humanity and our collective experiences while sharing a laugh along the way.
Lamont spent nearly a decade in public speaking coast to coast for some of the country’s largest companies. At the urging of a well-known comedian friend this Chicago based funny man made the jump from the corporate world to making the world laugh full time. Ever since then XL he has become one of Chicago’s best known comedians. His edgy style of storytelling has made him a crowd favorite at clubs in Chicago’s amazing comedy scene and around the country. In 2015 the comedian turned actor in the film “Killing Poe”.

Spencer native Luke Borchardt will host the night’s show. Now living in Chicago, Borchardt has been a finalist in numerous regional comedy contests. Luke made the Top 101 comics in the 2018 World Series of Comedy Contest & Festival.
