MFRD Called to a Chimney Fire
Marshfield: At 12:23 Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to 1133 W. Ives in the City of Marshfield for a chimney fire. At the time of the call, there was minimum staff on duty, due to the holiday.
The fire started in the chimney and progressed quickly into the walls and roof of the single-family dwelling.
1:09 PM CST – At this time, the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department is the only agency on the scene. Traffic is controlled and the area is blocked off between Schmidt Ave and Columbus Ave. Please avoid this area.
2:20 update: Incident Commander has stated fire is extinguished. Crews are working Property Conservation measures for the homeowner. Some units will be released from the scene shortly. Some units will remain on scene.
2:32 update: No reported injuries at this time.
The public is encouraged to stay clear of the area on West Ives, where a fire took place earlier today. The public is asked to stay out of the area. The roadway is iced over and slippery. Please use extreme caution.
