PORT EDWARDS, WI (OnFocus) -On Tuesday, at approximately 11:30am, maintenance staff working on dam near the Village of Port Edwards located human remains in the Wisconsin River. Sheriff’s Department personnel responded and confirmed they were human/skeletal remains.
The Sheriff’s Department is working on a recovery mission/crime scene assisted by the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, Wood County Rescue, Wood County Coroner’s Office, and the Crime Lab.
“There is no threat to the public and we asking the public to stay out of the area with we process the scene, they stated.
