The deadline for income tax filing for 2019 has been moved from April 15 to July 15.
“All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties,” announced Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.
The move results from the COVID-19 crisis and is projected by Mnuchin to leave $300 billion in the economy. He encourages taxpayers to file now if they are expecting a tax refund.
