Ireland Moran, a junior at Marshfield Senior High, qualified for the YMCA Short Course National Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Moran competes in the 100 back and 50 free through the Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA.
Moran also qualified for the YMCA Long Course National Championships in July of 2024 in Ocala, Florida.
“I’m so excited to go because of the experience,” said Moran. “There is so much excitement and you know you are competing against future Olympians.”
“I’m so thankful for all my coaches that I have had and all they have thought me to get me where I am today,” continued Moran. “My current coach, Kaeley Dunteman-Stiefvater, her excitement and love for the sport feeds off onto us every practice.”
Teammates have also been important to Moran’s success.
“I have had such an amazing experience this year with the coed team,” said Moran. “We are a tight-knit group and we make an effort to have fun and laugh every practice.”
