Jirschele’s Double-Double Leads Mosinee in Win over Kingdom Prep

Mosinee vs Kingdom Prep  Won: 82-43

The 2023-24 Mosinee boys basketball season started at home against Kingdom Prep.  The two teams played a very quick and up tempo style of basketball that kept fans on their feet the entire game.  Mosinee and Kingdom Prep were toe to toe early in the first three minutes until Mosinee went on a 12-2 run to open up the game.  In the first half Keagen Jirschele would contribute 21 points, Garrett Shupe would add 11, and Landen Thomer had 6 to lead Mosinee to a 44-27 halftime lead.  Out of the half, Mosinee would open up the game with some quick buckets of their own and get contributions from seven different players.

After some second half physical play, Mosinee would win the game 82-43 to give them their first win of the season.  Mosinee was led in scoring by Keagen Jirschele with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists while hitting 1 three pointer and going 5 for 7 at the free throw line, Garrett Shupe added a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 assist while hitting 2 threes and going 4 of 5 from the free throw line, Landen Thomer added a double-double as well with 15 points, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 assists while hitting 1 three and going 2 for 2 at the line, Treve Stoffel would add 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, Cole Kowalski would add 7 points and 6 rebounds while going 1 for 2 at the free throw line, Aidan Shaughnessy added 5 points and 3 rebounds while hitting 1 three, and Mitchell Michlig would add 3 points while adding 1 rebound and shooting 1 for 2 at the line.  Mosinee will play New London tomorrow at 5 pm for a rematch of their 2023 sectional game.
