MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Joann Fabrics & Crafts has announced the closure of multiple store locations across the United States as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring, and the Marshfield location at 1919 N Central Avenue is among those set to close.

The fabric and craft retailer, known for its sewing, knitting, and home décor supplies, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The company is seeking to restructure its operations and reduce costs by closing underperforming stores.

The Marshfield store is included in the initial list of closures filed with the court. While an official closing date has not yet been announced, store liquidation sales are expected to begin soon, allowing customers to purchase inventory at discounted prices before the location shuts down.

Joann, which has served customers for more than 80 years, cited economic challenges and changing consumer shopping habits as factors in its financial struggles. In addition to the Marshfield location, other Wisconsin stores on the closure list include those in Plover, Racine, Menomonee Falls, Oshkosh, Marinette, and Sheboygan Falls.

Shoppers looking to visit a nearby Joann Fabrics location after the Marshfield closure will need to travel to alternative stores, such as those in Wausau or Eau Claire. The company has stated that it remains committed to maintaining an online presence and continuing operations at its remaining locations.

More details on store closing dates and sales will be provided as Joann finalizes its bankruptcy proceedings.
