Marshfield High School Tiger athletics, along with Marshfield’s Parks & Recreation Department, will honor local students and athletes tonight at dusk by turning on stadium lights in the City of Marshfield.
School sports have been suspended indefinitely in the wake of COVID-19. For some athletes, this season would have been the final opportunity they had to perform and compete with teammates and classmates that they have grown up with.
“During this time of crisis or chaos, everyone needs a moment of hope and support,” said Nathan DeLany, athletic director. “We recognize the importance of our safer at home order and social distancing and this is a way to show the community support for our kids at home.”
Entering or use of facilities is not allowed at this time, but citizens are encouraged to show their support for local athletes by turning on their porch lights.
