MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – After almost six years of serving the citizens of Marshfield, K9 Steffi has called it a career.
On July 8th, Steffi retired from the Marshfield Police Department K9 program, ending her service to the Department and City of Marshfield for which she has been working since November of 2015.
According to the Marshfield Police Department, Steffi has logged more than 1186 training hours and has had 487 deployments resulting in approximately 124 drug arrests. Additionally, she has assisted with taking approximately 12 other individuals into custody for various offenses.
In 2019, K9 Steffi received the Meritorious Tracking Award from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handlers Association. Steffi tracked a double homicide suspect to a stolen vehicle which was crucial information that ultimately led to the arrest of that suspect.
K9 Steffi will retire and live with Officer Chris Hasz and his family.
Steffi worked along side K9 “H” from 2015 to 2018 and most recently, K9 Rika from 2018 to 2021.
