MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – This holiday season, children are invited to MMCCU (302 W Upham) to pick up a card decorating kit. Finished cards will be distributed to local nursing home residents. Parents can pick up a card stock kit by stopping in or going through the drive-thru (during open hours). Kids are also welcome to use supplies they have at home instead of the card kit, if desired.

“The kids have had a lot of fun doing this the past couple of years, and the nursing home residents have responded well,” said Stephanie Rasmussen, MMCCU. “It’s a great way for kids to have fun and also to bring joy to local nursing home residents.”

All kids who decorate 3 or more cards will be entered into a drawing for a MACCI gift certificate (with 5 kids winning). Youth who are members of the MMCCU Kids Rewards Club are encouraged to decorate 3 cards to earn an extra spin on the prize wheel.

“Our Kids Rewards Club is a great way to teach kids about finances in a fun way,” said Rasmussen. “Along with teaching kids about finances, we also like to do fun activities like this to help teach kids the joy of giving back!”

Decorated holiday cards are due back to MMCCU by December 11 at noon. Staff will then deliver the cards to local nursing home residents later in the week. All kids are welcome to participate (do not need to be an MMCCU member).
