MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Submitted – My name is Darwin Zwieg. I was the Clark County District Attorney for over 30 years. With that background as a guide, I give my unequivocal endorsement of Jake Brunette for the second judgeship in Clark County.

I wish to emphasize some key points. It is easy to see that Jake Brunette has broad experience in many areas of the law. Of particular note are matters involving children in need of protective services, mental health issues and substance abuse, which, as we know, appear as root causes of much of the dysfunction and violence in society.

Many of the rulings and decisions of a judge require the use of discretion. Another way of putting that is to say the judge has to exercise good judgment. It is in this area where it is crucial to know the person behind the robe. In that regard, I know Jake possesses the utmost integrity and respect for the law and legal ethics. A judge has to not only know the letter of the law but also have in mind the policy behind the law, sometimes referred to as the spirit of the law.

Jake has excelled not only in his legal career but in other demanding positions as well. (For full information on Jake’s background and legal/work experience go to the website, https://www.jakebrunette4judge.com/ and click on ‘Meet Jake.’) Life expertise under pressure situations shows Jake can handle the broad range of legal issues that come before the court and handle the ever increasing workload.

Please join me in supporting Jake Brunette for the Clark County judgeship by voting for him on April 4th.
