Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) The City of Marshfield has been proclaimed a Tree City USA for the 37th year. The designation recognizes cities for their dedication to urban forestry management.
DNR Urban Forester Don Kissinger discussed the benefits of an urban forest and the proper planting technique with Lincoln Elementary School 6th graders, who selected a bare root Dwarf Korean Lilac tree to plant in the visitor’s parking lot on Friday to celebrate Arbor Day.
The public was welcome to attend the event and could leave with a 1-quart Black Hills Spruce Tree of their own.
