OnFocus – During this Thanksgiving season the Spencer Lions Club recognized a couple of things they are thankful for in the community.
Spencer Lions Club President Terry Beyreis presented Joyce Abbeglen of the Kings Food Pantry with a check for the proceeds from the Trinity Lutheran/ Spencer Lions Drive Thru Smelt Feed.
“Our club is extremely appreciative for the support we received from the community during the smelt feed this year and are privileged to present the proceeds to such a good cause,” they wrote. “Food insecurity affects more families than most people realize. Food panty donations stay in our area and go a long way to help our neighbors during times of stress and uncertainty.”
Beyreis also presented R&R Flooring and Furniture Owner Perry Hinrichsen with a Community Contribution Award for all of the support he provides the club, and especially for the use of space at R&R Flooring for their annual Christmas Tree sale.
“Perry provides a safe and secure space for our tree sale with easy access and great visibility, and it is greatly appreciated,” they said.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the Lions Club for what they do for the community!” said Hinrichsen. “Spencer is a great strong community where everyone pulls together and that’s what I think is great about this community! This is a great location with high visibility for Christmas trees and they do very well here. I am just glad to help in anyway I can!”
