Marshfield (Onfocus) – Seven artists from the area were stationed along the Wildwood Park drive-thru on Saturday in the first ever Plein Air Art Loop event. This free event allowed spectators to witness each artist’s unique process from the safety of their vehicles.
Sheltered under canopies from the rain, each artist highlighted a different animal or zoo exhibit.
Artists included were:
Dana Johnson – Upper Pond, ducks and geese,
Tracy Felix- Landscape,
Marty Yohn- Buffalo,
Laura Berdan Johnson: Whitetailed Deer, Rebecca Belt- Mt. Goats,
Nancy Stauner- Elk,
Dana Speth- Wolves.
“Plein Air was a wonderful experience!” said Belt. “It is not often I get a chance to sit and paint for any length of time (especially to start and finish a piece) so having an opportunity to do that was very refreshing. We were surrounded by other artists exhibiting their talents and enjoying the natural beauties the zoo has to offer.”
“It was a fun, new experience, added Speth. “I enjoyed sitting watching the wolves for several hours. The zoo is always a great place to hang out and painting the animals gave me a new perspective on it.”
