Many Local Businesses Hiring in Marshfield
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – As Federal Extended Unemployment Benefits end on September 4, many establishments are hoping this will lead to some relief for being significantly short-staffed. To encourage applicants, local businesses are offering increased pay, benefits, and flexible work schedules.
Weiler’s, a local Marshfield convenience store for more than three decades, hopes to bring a few more people onto their team in the coming weeks. The store at 600 N. Central is hiring for an opener, offering competitive pay, and with insurance and a 401k available, as well as weekly pay.
“We are always looking for friendly, hardworking people to join our team,” said Kelly Weiler, owner.
Casey Borchardt, who has worked at Weiler’s for a few years, said pay, flexibility, and work environment are important to her.
“It doesn’t seem like actual work,” she said. “The bosses are respectful and treat each of us like family.”
Marshfield’s Festival Foods is also seeking applicants for several positions. A hiring event took place on August 31.
“We have mainly part-time positions available, but do have full-time opportunities as well,” said Nic Lotzer, HR Manager/Market Lead. “Those as young as 14 are welcome to apply. These young people make up a significant portion of our newest hires, which makes back-to-school time challenging.”
He said they are seeking daytime help and some later evening help.
“We do have really good benefits for full and part-time, and offer weekend premiums, a discount program, and the opportunity to grow and advance throughout the store,” he said. “We move people around a lot, so there is a lot of variety in the work – which is what a lot of associates like and enjoy.”
Lotzer said the company also offers flexibility for workers, creating schedules to allow students to participate in sports and other extracurriculars.
“We do offer really good work flexibility,” he said.
For those seeking a more hands-on job, Quality Roofing in Marshfield is also actively hiring workers for a variety of positions.
“No experience is necessary,” said Mark Begotka, owner. “We offer paid training, job flexibility, great perks, and a family environment.”
Quality Roofing even has a Spanish trainer, providing opportunities to new hires that may not speak English.
Kobussen Buses is also hiring, offering sign-on bonuses and a variety of shifts.
“We’re always looking for more and more drivers ,” said Brianna Darrow. “We’d love for you to join our team. Our students need you, our community needs you, and we are always happy to see someone join our team.”
