OnFocus – Local crafter Vicki Bohman has long been a supporter of the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS) but her most recent excursion may be the best way she’s shown her support.
The Marshfield native started making succulents that are available for purchase and she has recently rolled out a Valentine’s Day line of products that are sure to impress.
Bohman donates 100 percent of the profits she makes and has already contributed more than $2,000 to MAPS and is looking to give much more.
“There’s two things I really love,” Bohman said. “One is animals and the other one is plants. So I had this idea where I could combine both of them.”
Ten years of succulent-making has allowed Bohman to work on her talents and now, put it to a charitable use.
Bohman said she, like everyone, has seen a lot of darkness in the world over the past year and wanted to help put some light in people’s lives.
She has been very accommodating to her customers as she customizes succulents by putting them in special pots that people may provide for her.
“I just want to do something good,” Bohman said. “I just want to do something to make the world a little bit brighter. This last year has been very challenging for everybody and hopefully inspire other people to find a charity and do something good also.”
Bohman said she will be looking to set up a pop-up shop in the future to present and sell her products.
