MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Along with celebrating, the holidays are also a time for remembering. Local credit union MMCCU will be hosting a “memory tree” in their lobby throughout the holiday season.

Credit Union members and members of the public are encouraged to bring in an ornament that reminds them of someone they have lost. For every person that brings in an ornament, MMCCU will donate $5 to a fund (up to $500 total) that will then be used to purchase food for Soup or Socks.

“The last two years have been especially challenging for people, so we thought this would be a nice way to remember loved ones that are no longer with us,” said Carol Rae Kulibert, MMCCU Operations Manager. “We also wanted to use this as an opportunity to give back to the community, which is why we are donating to Soup or Socks for each ornament brought in.”

To participate, simply bring in an ornament during open hours MMCCU staff will record your name and contact information so that your ornament can be returned at the end of the season.
