“The purpose of the Job Center is to help the people of Marshfield and the surrounding communities find employment to keep moving Wisconsin forward,” said Miranda Lezcano, Director of Workforce Development, Area 6. “The Job Center is important because it provides resources and assistance to the community for job searching, unemployment assistance, soft skills training, application assistance, and much more.”
Anyone, regardless of income or experience, can benefit from its services. The Job Center is run in partnership between the Department of Workforce Development, City of Marshfield, and North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, and is funded through these parties.
The Job Center shares space with NCCAP, which provides skill-building services for low-income individuals, and Forward Service Corporation, a low-income career guidance and program center.
Get started by visiting the Job Center at 211 E 2nd St. Suite 123. Hours are 9-3:30 Monday through Thursday. On Mondays, staff from the DWD are available for unemployment assistance and unemployment mandatory training. Computers can be used for job searching, resume building, and more, while staff can help practice interviews (by appointment).
