The Loyal Greyhounds and the Assumption Royals advanced in the 2019 Cranberry Classic at Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids.
Loyal took down Nekoosa 51-30 in the first game behind 20 points from Remi Geiger. The Greyhounds would get hot from three in the second half as they pulled away hitting 6 three-pointers including 4 in a row from Geiger. Savannah Schley and Paige Smith would each score 9.
Nekoosa was led by Marissa Harnish with 12.
Assumption took down Columbus in the second game 49-34 behind another strong second half, this time by Madalyn Bohn.
Madalyn would lead the team with 18 points, 12 in the second half including going 4-5 from the free-throw line. Jessie Grunhoffer would add 9 and Emily Bohn would put in 8.
Columbus Catholic was led by Emily Jicinsky with 13 points.
Nekoosa and Columbus will face off in the consolation game Nov. 30th at 11:30 AM, Loyal and Assumption will face off in the championship game at about 1:15 PM. Both games can be seen at onfocus.news/sports.
