“Our expectation is again to compete at the top of the conference and see if we can go deep in the playoffs,” Lindner said.

The team lost players on the offensive line due to graduation but has some experienced players returning to the team to compete for open spots.

Lindner noted that he likes the mindset of the team this season. “I think they are willing to work. I think that they’ve got a good attitude. If we stay together and work hard, continue our attitude with it, I see a good season out of our group of young men.

The team opens the season at home against Ellsworth on Friday, Aug. 17.

Senior running back and middle linebacker, Clayton Rarick, relayed the same message of

his head coach in that he expects excellence and improvement of the team this season.

“I expect to have a very, very good season and win conference, for sure, and make it deep in the playoffs and hopefully state,” Rarick said.

“We want to continue off last year and kind of have the same mentality of being a small and fast team. We have tons of seniors this year who all work very hard at it and I think we can feed off of the last couple years’ success and be even better this year.”
