LOYAL, WI (OnFocus) – The Loyal Splash Pad is a community project dedicated to bringing a water recreation area to West Side Community Park (learn more here). A special donor has come forward for the project, but the public’s help is needed to make their birthday wish come true.
“Dr. Eldon Hill has agreed to donate $150,000 toward the Splash Pad Coming to Loyal Project. He and his family are requesting matching funds for this donation,” said Kaila Fitzl, project committee chair. “We are asking for 102 donations of $102 in honor of Dr. Hill’s 102nd birthday on January 11, 2023.”
Dr. Hill is a 1938 graduate of Loyal High School who went on to have a successful career as both a doctor and investor. Since his retirement, he has renewed his interest in the Loyal School District by sponsoring the Draper/Hill scholarship for both university and technical college students and funding the districtwide Financial Literacy Program.
Donations can be dropped of at the Loyal City Hall or made online HERE.
“We are currently in the fundraising stage. Once funds are raised, the City of Loyal will allow for construction to begin,” said Fitzl.
A few upcoming dates for fundraisers are:
- Sunday, January 15, February 19 and March 19: Splash Pad BINGO at the Loyal City Hall from 1-3pm
- Friday, March 31: Dueling Pianos at the Loyal American Legion
