Loyal exploded for 40 points in the first quarter and defeated Athens 54-26 on Friday night in CloverWood Conference action.
Clinton Rarick rushed for three of Loyal’s five first-quarter touchdowns on dashes of 64, 6 and 80 yards. Stephen Buchanan scored the two other TDs on rushes of 31 and 5 yards. Rarick rushed for 179 yards on six carries and Matthew Szymanski had 136 yards and two TDs on four attempts as the Greyhounds put up 510 yards on the ground.
