Austin Erdman of the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation presents a check for $7,590 raised by the 2024 Duck Derby to Sherry Evenson, Executive Director of Aspirus Riverview Foundation. The funds will be used to support our community’s greatest health needs, including local mental health initiatives.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (OnFocus) – The Duck Derby sold out again this year! That is according to Austin Erdman of the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation, which organizes the derby. One thousand rubber ducks were “adopted” to support our community’s greatest health needs, including local mental health initiatives.

This year’s derby raised $7,590. Since its inception, the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation Duck Derby has raised more than $15,000 to support local community health initiatives through Aspirus Riverview Foundation.

Due to unsafe river conditions this year, the ducks were not able to be dropped from the Jackson Street bridge in Wisconsin Rapids following the Cranberry Blossom Festival. However, six lucky ducks were drawn and won bucks for the individuals who adopted them by purchasing a ticket – $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd, $125 for 3rd, $75 for 4th, and $25 for 5th and 6th.

“These initiatives are so important,” explained Sherry Evenson, Executive Director of Aspirus Riverview Foundation. “We are lucky to have such a generous community helping us improve the mental health and wellness of our families, friends, and neighbors.”

Aspirus Riverview Foundation strives to support community-based efforts that align with improving the community’s greatest health and wellness needs.
