Blodgett Haus to House Main Street Organization May 1
Main Street Marshfield, the local organization that joins with other Main Street programs around the country to enhance community identity and heritage and foster a downtown center of activity and ensure economic stability, is moving into a new headquarters effective May 1. The Board of Directors began discussing the move a few months ago and finalized the decision this spring to move into the Blodgett Haus location, located at 222 S Central Avenue.
“We looked at a few different locations, but this location fits our budget, has ample storage for event supplies, and is located right off the new Wenzel Family Plaza,” said Kaelie Gomez, Executive Director of Main Street Marshfield. “Main Street will be joining other businesses at Blodgett Haus because it recently became an ‘office community.’ We’ll meet new people and I’m sure learn new tricks just by sharing the floor with other creative, motivated business folk.”
Blodgett Haus was renovated in 2014 by Chris and Erin Howard, both of whom are actively involved in the downtown. Erin currently serves as Board President for Main Street Marshfield.
The organization is looking forward to improved office space in their new location.
“Our organization is growing,” said Gomez. “We’ll be sharing an office with the new Wenzel Family Plaza Coordinator. We also have a difficult time having confidential discussions because our current office is open concept, which means our desks and conference room are all in one spot. The new space will offer us a couple spaces for private meetings as well as separate offices.”
“We’re excited to be joining businesses on the 200 Block,” she added. “The 100 Block has treated us well and we love our neighbors, but it will be nice to be slightly more centrally located.”
Gomez invites anyone to stop in and check out the new location after May 1.
“You’re just as welcome as you were before to drop in and say ‘hello,’ and I hope you do!” she said. “We look forward to seeing you at Blodgett Haus.”
