WAUSAU, WI (OnFocus) – The Marathon County Jail will transition to a new inmate technology system beginning Monday, July 31, 2023. This technology change will impact inmate phone calls, emails, and video visitation intermittently during the week of July 31 – August 5, 2023, as follows:
- Inmate phones will be down for a short period of time on Monday, July 31. Once phone service resumes, inmates will need to migrate funds to the new provider. Due to this process, phone access may not be available until Tuesday, August 1.
- Inmate emails will remain available on the same platform (www.jailatm.com) until Wednesday, August 2. Email service will transition to the new platform late Wednesday, August 2 or early Thursday, August 3.
- Video visitation, either at the facility or remotely, will be unavailable from Monday, July 31 – Thursday, August 3. Visitations will still require 24 hours advanced scheduling with approval. The earliest visit may occur on Friday, August 4, pending a successful technology migration.
- To avoid any impacts to orders, commissary purchases by the public should not occur after Sunday, July 30.
Additional information for family and friends will be made available on Monday, July 31 on the Marathon County Jail webpage at www.marathoncounty.gov/jail and will be available at the entrances to the Jail.
