WAUSAU, WI (OnFocus) – On April 8, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Marathon County multi-jurisdictional Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) will conduct training exercises at 508 E. Wausau Ave. in the City of Wausau.
This training will include the use of tactical vehicles and explosive breaching techniques. These activities will be specifically performed on a garage scheduled for demolition by the Parks Department on April 10. This exercise is an opportunity to practice critical response capabilities in a controlled and safe environment.
We emphasize that there is NO threat to the community. This is a planned, routine training exercise. Residents in the area may notice an increased law enforcement presence and noise from the use of tactical equipment and controlled breaching.
