TOWN OF GREEN VALLEY, WI (OnFocus) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a structure fire reported on January 16, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m., in the 133700 block of County Road C in the Town of Green Valley. As a result of the fire, a 65-year-old- female who lived at the home died at the scene.
The initial investigation into the cause of the fire is non-suspicious in nature, and the cause of death of the female is ongoing.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Medical Units from Stratford, Spencer, and Marshfield. Assisting Fire units include Stratford, Edgar, McMillian, Hewitt (Wood County), and Wood County RIT. The Salvation Army and Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office also assisted at the scene.
