Marathon-Onieda County Bomb Squad Call to Investigate alleged Bomb
Wisconsin Rapids (OnFocus) The Marathon-Onidea County Bomb Squad was called to Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday after Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies located a device that appeared to be a homemade bomb.
At 12:39 pm Wood County Sheriff deputies were completing an investigation at 2821 Gaynor Ave in Wisconsin Rapids when a device was located in a vehicle in the backyard of the property. In a statement issued by the Sheriff’s Department, the device had characteristics of a homemade bomb. The Marathon-Onieda County Bomb Squad was called out to investigate. After their investigation, they deemed that the bomb was not active and they were able to dismantle the device without incident.
At this time the public is not at risk. The incident is still under investigation.
