Marathon Softball Voted OnFocus Team of the Week, May 22 – May 28

Voting for the area’s top team was a three team race for the May 22 – May 28 period. When the dust settled, Marathon Softball was awarded the title of OnFocus Team of the Week, collecting 274 votes.

Taking second place was Edgar Softball with 229 votes.

Third place went to Medford Softball with 148 votes.

OnFocus Team of the Week, May 22 to May 28

  • Edgar Softball – The Wildcats advanced to the sectional semifinals with a pair of shutout wins last week. Edgar defeated Bowler/Gresham 18-0 and Three Lakes/Phillips 7-0.
  • Newman Catholic Softball – Newman picking up wins over Marion(16-1) and #1 seed Pacelli(11-7) to advance to the sectional semifinals.
  • Assumption Softball – The Royals are blitzing the opposition in the playoffs, picking up a pair of 15-0 wins over Royall and Ithaca to advance to the sectional semifinals.
  • Marathon Softball – The #7 seeded Red Raiders took down the #2 seed, Markesan(17-7) and #3 seed Auburndale(7-5) to make it to the sectional semifinals.
  • Medford Softball – Medford advanced to the sectional semifinals with wins over Lakeland(5-2) and Antigo(2-1).
