Voters for the area’s top performers selected Daniel LaQua of Marathon Baseball as the OnFocus Athlete of the week, May 7 – May 13, casting 292 votes.
Iszy Sonnentag of Cadott Girls Track and Field took second place with 229 votes. Third place went to Danielle Minsaas of Marshfield Girls Track and Field with 107 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, May 7 – May 13
- Danielle Minsaas, Marshfield Girls Track and Field – Minsaas broke the school record in the high jump at the inaugural Marshfield Track and Field Invitational, clearing 5’4. She broke her previous school record of 5’3, set last year, when she tied Carlin McClary’s mark of 5’3, set in 1978.
- Daniel LaQua, Marathon Baseball – The Raiders claimed an outright Marawood South Conference title with a 2-1 extra-innings win over Auburndale, and LaQua came up big from his leadoff spot, collecting four hits.
- Addi Vollert, Assumption Girls Soccer – Vollert netted six goals in the Royals’ big win Regis/McDonell, 9-1, avenging an early season loss. Combined with teammate Kendall Duellman’s school record 5 assists in the game, the Royals proved to be a force when the soccer playoffs begin.
- Conner Krach, Newman Catholic Boys Golf – After 3 legs of the Marawood Conference Golf Meet, Krach holds a 13 shot lead, after his 3rd leg score of 69.
- Iszy Sonnentag, Cadott Girls Track and Field – Sonnentag claimed titles in the 100 m hurdle, 300 m hurdles and triple jump at the Cadott De Jung Track and Field Invitational.
