Marion Track and Field Wins First Meet, Madiline Wudstrack Named MVP

The Marion Track and Field came ready to do whatever it takes to win and they 
proved it on their first meet.  It was a cool day but the athletes kept it hot on the 
track.  On April 10th we traveled to Bowler-Greasham for their medley meet.  The 
boys had some very tough competition and worked hard to get every place they 
could.  The women also worked hard and scored many points for all there places 
they took.  In the end the women won the girls meet and the men took second.  For 
total point though Marion came through by winning the meet.  We even had our 
own Madiline Wudstrack voted MVP for the girls at the meet.  This hasn’t been 
done for a long time, and it couldn’t have been done with the hard work and 
sacrifice of our athletes. 
 For athletes placing at the meet for the girls we had in the 
100-meter dash Klara Peters with 2nd place with a time of 14.71, 3rd place went to 
Madiline Wudstrack with a time of 14.83 and 6th place was Kailey Rosenow with a 
time of 15.33.  For the 200 Meter dash Hailey Burmeinster got 7th place with a 
time of 36.01.  For the 400-meter dash Kennedy Zuniga came in 3rd place with a 
time of 1:11.07.  For the 800-meter Run Kennedy Zuniga came in 2nd place with a 
time of 2:56.64.  For the 1600 meter run we had Brittany Beechy came in 2nd with 
a time of 7:08.41.  For the 3200-meter run we had Klara Peters come in 2nd place 
with a time of 17:25.08.  In the 100-meter hurdles we had Bridget Much come in 
first place with a time of 24.09.  for our 4X100 relay team they came in 1st place 
with a time of 1:02.79 the team members are Presley Stewart-Rolfs, Kailey 
Rosenow, Sophia Wudstruck and Madiline Wudstruck.  The 4X200 relay team also 
came in 1st place with a time of 2:33.74. Those members were Hailey Burmeister, 
Sophia Wudstuck, Jorja Karst, and Brittany Beechy.  For the 1600 Sprint Medley 
the girls came in 2nd with a time of 5:45.04. Those members were Kailey Rosenow, 
Hailey Burmeister, Madiline Wudstruck and Bridget Much.  For the Girls Distance 
Medley they took first with a time of 12:48.79.  Those members were Klara Peters, 
Bridget Much, Brittany Beechy and Kennedy Zuniga.  For High Jump Presley 
Stewart-Rolfs took 2nd place with a jump of 4-02.  In high jump Presley Stewart-
Rolfs took 2nd with a jump of 4-02.  In long jump Klara Peters took 1st place with a 
jump of 14-03.50, Hailey Burmeister took 5th place with a jump of 12-08 and 
Brittany Beechy took 6th place with a jump of 12-03.  In Triple Jump Madiline
Wudstrack took 1st place with a jump of 29-10.75 and Bridget Much took 4th place
with a jump of 24-1.  In the Shot Put Presley Stewart-Rolfs took 2nd place with a
throw of 31-8 and Kailey Rosenow took 5th place with a throw of 22-7.  In discus
Presley Stewart-Rolfs took 1st place with a throw of 92-03, Lily Wudstrack took 7th
place with a throw of 47-3.25 and Jorja Karst took 8th place with a throw of 44-8.
On the boy’s side of the track, we had Caleb Stern come in 4th place in the 100
meters with a time of 12.60, Alex Abrahamson took 5th place with a time of 12.74
and Jolanzo Leroy took 7th place with a time of 13.20.  For the 200-meter dash
Caleb Stern took 4th place with a time of 26.90.  
In the 400-meter dash Anthony
Pagon took 4th place with a time of 1:02.47.  In the 800-meter run Luke Aiello took
3rd place with a time  of 2:45.88.  In the 1600-meter run Luke Aiello also took 3rd
place with a time of 6:18.62.  The 110 hurdles, Landon Marquardt took 3rd place
with a time of 22.14.  Landon Marquardt also ran the 300 hurdles taking 2nd place
with a time of 53.89.  The 4X100 Relay took 1st place with a time of 51.40.  The
team consisted of Anothony Pagon, Jolanzo Leroy, Tristian Herro, and Caleb Stern.
The4X200 team took 2nd place with a time of 2:04.03.  These members were Alex
Abrahamson, Landon Marquardt, Liam Thomas, and Luke Aiello. 
 In high jump
we had Tristian Herro take 1st place with a jump of 5-6  In the triple jump Caleb
Stern took 1st place with a jump of 37-6, Tristian Herro took 2nd with a jump of 36-
7 and Anthony Pagon took 5th place with a jump of 33-4.  In the shot put Luke
Aiello took 4th place with a throw of 29-5, and Liam Thomas took 6th place with a
throw of 29 feet.  In the discus we had Tristian Herro take 2nd place with a throw of
97-7, and Liam Thomas took 5th place with a throw of 83-3.  The scores were for
women Marion 161.5, Gresham Community/Bowler 72, Menominee Indians 63,
Wolf River Lutheran 45, Northland Luthern 37.5 and Faith Christian Academy 33.
For the boys it was Menominee Indians 172, Marion 121, Gresham
Community/Bowler 80, Wolf River Lutheran 52, Northland Lutheran 42 and Faith
Christian Academy 42.  This team came with a goal of winning and they brought
home the plaque to prove it.  Great job to our Marion Mustang Track and Field
team for the win.
