Marshfield and Eau Claire Boys Battle in NC Soccer

Game report summary by Marshfield Coach Jeff Molter

Mfld with a really slow start against Eau Claire went down a goal early (00:27) mark to be exact. After which we settled in a bit and started to create some opportunities. The longer we played the more there were.
We earned a PK around the 66th minute, to which Epps ( eau Claire’s keeper) came up with a huge save against Mathew Uphoffs shot.
A minute and a half later with some fresh legs in the form of Aaron Ongna, Mathew Uphoff slotted a great balls that Aaron was able to keep at his foot and net our first goal of the night. After that we pressed hard and controlled the majority of play but weren’t able to find the net again.
Mfld out shot EC 21 to 6
Mfld with 3 corners to EC’s 1
Mfld keeper Alex Pfeifer with 4 saves one being a break away.
EC keep Epps with 11 saves.
Not the result we wanted but nonetheless we controlled player for 60 of the 80 minutes of play and are happy with the opportunities we created. Now we just need to finish better.
