Winter Weather Battle Prompts Date Change

Marshfield Area Pet Shelter hosted its 8th annual breakfast fundraiser in February of this year, the same day that a record-breaking blizzard deposited more than a foot of snow in the area.

After battling inclement winter weather for the past few years, MAPS decided to move its popular breakfast to November. The organization will host its 9th annual breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, November 3rd from 8:00am-11:30am at Holiday Inn (750 S Central Ave).

“We hope you can join us for a delicious all-you-care-to-eat breakfast buffet prepared by Chef Doug at the Holiday Inn,” said MAPS Executive Director Karen Rau. “There will also be raffle baskets and other fun opportunities to help local animals.”

At the breakfast, meet MAPS’ staff and volunteers and learn more about MAPS’ 2020 plans including developments toward a permanent facility.

Funds raised at this breakfast help support the day-to-day operations at MAPS’ intake facility and adoption center. Every year, MAPS helps hundreds of local animals find forever homes, thanks to the support of the local community.

All tickets are sold at the door: Adults, $10.00. Children ages 4-12, $5.00. Children under 4 years eat free. Sponsors are Thrivent Financial and Bushman Dairy.

Marshfield Area Pet Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer-based organization actively engaged in building a new facility for the greater Marshfield area. MAPS is currently operating in a temporary home on West 29th Street in the former airport terminal building and at an Adoption Center within Marshfield Mall.

Construction on a new shelter at 3500 Downwind Drive began in September. For more information, please visit www.MarshfieldPetShelter.org or call 715-486-5140.
