WAUSAU – Marshfield scored multiple runs in four different innings to blow past Wausau East 15-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball game Tuesday at East High School.
Marshfield scored twice in the first inning, three times in the third, and plated five runs in both the fourth and sixth innings to finish off the win via the 10-run rule after six innings.
Will Voss threw a complete game for the Tigers, striking out three and allowing four hits and three walks.
Ryan Krueger and Ben Gust each had four hits for the Tigers, who had 16 in all. Krueger had a pair of doubles, a triple, and two RBIs, and scored three times out of the leadoff spot for Marshfield. Gust had a double and four RBIs in the win.
Isaiah Baierl and Preston Wagner each added two hits, with Baierl scoring three times and Wagner twice for Marshfield (12-10, 6-3 Wisconsin Valley Conference).
Marshfield hosts East (7-6, 3-6 WVC) on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.
