Marshfield boys basketball hits 16 3-pointers, routs Wausau East

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys basketball team was on fire from long range, draining 16 3-pointers, and blew out Wausau East 78-36 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers have now won seven games in a row, last losing on Dec. 19 against D.C. Everest, and improve to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Wausau East is now 10-6 and 3-5 in conference play.

Marshfield finished 16 of 31 from 3-point range and 29 of 53 overall from the field as it completes a season sweep of East with the victory.

Brant Bohman was 4-for-9 on 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 18 points, and Preston Wagner made 5 of 9 triples to score 17 points for the Tigers.

Addison Hill added 10 points and Isaac Meverden added eight points for Marshfield as the two each made both of their 3-point attempts.

Marshfield will host Wisconsin Rapids as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Monday. The girls game starts at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com. The doubleheader has been postponed twice, on Jan. 22 and again on Jan. 28 due to bad weather.

The Tigers are home on Tuesday against Mosinee.
