Marshfield boys golf takes third at Nekoosa Invite

NEKOOSA – Ben Baur tied for second and Cole Hanson was fourth for the Marshfield boys golf team, which finished third at the 10-team Nekoosa Invitational on Thursday at Lake Arrowhead Golf Club.

Reedsburg won the team title with a score of 335 as its top four golfers finished in the top eight. Baraboo was second with a 350, one shot better than Marshfield. Wisconsin Rapids took fourth with a 365.

Baur shot an 83 to tie for second behind meet medalist Will Fuhrmann of Reedsville, who won with a 75.

Hanson had an 86 to take fourth, Nate Boson tied for ninth with a 90, Jeffery Berres had a 92, and Josh Gruen shot a 94 for the Tigers.

Marshfield will start play in the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament on Friday as the first of seven meets will be held at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
