COTTAGE GROVE – The Marshfield boys golf team tied for first with D.C. Everest at a quadrangular meet at Oaks Golf Club, just west of Madison, on Tuesday.
The meet was put together after the Marshfield Invitational scheduled for Tuesday had to be postponed due to last week’s spring snowstorm.
Marshfield and D.C. Everest tied for first with scores of 320 as each team placed four golfers in the top nine overall. Wausau West was third with a 349 and Medford took a distant fourth with a 403.
Wausau West’s Jordan Yang won meet medalist honors with a 77, one shot better than Marshfield’s Ben Baur and Cole Hanson, who tied for second with 78s.
Davis Rens shot an 80 to place seventh, and Nate Boson and Jackson Bulgrin both shot 81 to tie for eighth for the Tigers. Josh Gruen added a 93 to finish in 16th place.
Weather permitting, Marshfield is scheduled to play at the D.C. Everest Invitational on Thursday at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau, along with Wausau East, Wausau West and Merrill.
