MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys tennis team finished its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet schedule with a perfect record after taking care of D.C. Everest 5-2 on Friday at the Boson Tennis Complex.
The Tigers end the regular season with a 5-0 mark in WVC duals and have 48 points heading into Saturday’s Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament at Wausau East. Wausau East, who Marshfield was tied with for first place heading into Friday’s match, does not finish its dual season until Monday when it hosts Wausau West.
Marshfield swept the three doubles matches and split in the singles matches to pull out the victory.
The Tigers’ No. 1 team of Jared Cordova and Will Fay won 6-3, 6-0; the No. 2 team of Lucas Paulman and Sam Roherty swept their match 6-0, 6-0; and the No. 3 team of freshmen Kennan Chojnacki and Justin Rachu won 6-0, 6-1.
Ryan Paulman at No. 3 singles and Eli Swansen at No. 4 both won in straight sets as well for Marshfield.
