SPORTSDESK – The 2018 Marshfield Chaparrals season is underway. The Chaps began the season at Jack Hackman Field in Marshfield, WI with a 6-1 win over the Rib Lake Osprey.
“I looked at the scoreboard after the game and I thought one error for our first game of the year is a pretty clean game”, said Chaparrals head coach Justin Rayburn. The Chaparrals broke loose in the second inning with four runs, headlined by an Austin Littman 2-run RBI single. Chaps first baseman, Lucius Messerschmidt, drove in right fielder, Kyle Westhuis, in the third.
In the eight inning, Riley Erickson scored on a pass ball to round out the Chaparrals 6-1 win over the Osprey. Starting pitcher, Bobby Pilz, had 5 strikeouts and closer, Kade Lancour, added two strikeouts in the 9th inning.
Next up for the Chapparals is a home game at Jack Hackman Field on May 25th vs the Tomahawk Titans, first pitch is scheduled for 7:30pm. Highlights of the game will be available at: www.zaleskisportsshow.com
