MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The competition among Marshfield area chili cooks was fierce and tasty! Thanks to Stoney River Marshfield’s first annual Chili Cook-Off hosted at the assisted living community in conjunction with the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ProMedica, the public got to taste and vote for three local chili champions.
“The Chili Cook-Off was a hit!” said Stoney River’s Lifestyle Specialist Meranda Lelonek, one of the event organizers, who added that she was impressed with the level of participation and enthusiasm shown by the Marshfield community and Stoney River’s residents and family members. “Everyone had a great time with the cooks enjoying a little friendly, but competitive, banter as guests sampled the thirteen entries and voted for their favorites in three categories.”
Alas, the chili winners were announced at the end of the March 23 competition with “Most Unique” going to Lizz Richards, Stoney River’s very own Memory Support Manager, “Tastiest” going to KC Reichenbach from ProMedica and “Best Presentation” going to Chance Ermerling.
The event’s success was truly a local, team effort made even sweeter by 2 ½ Cups Cupcakery and Bakeshop’s donation of scrumptious desserts.
