MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Marshfield Clinic’s CEO, Dr. Brian Hoerneman, has shared an update regarding the health system’s ongoing efforts to achieve financial turnaround goals. Per a System update, discussions have commenced between managers and staff affected by decisions aimed at enhancing the organization’s financial stability.

As part of these initiatives, a portion of the Health System’s workforce, approximately 3%, will be placed on employee furloughs. This decision follows a comprehensive review of services and labor resources, which constitute over 50% of the Health System’s total operating costs.

According to Hoerneman, the review has identified opportunities to reorganize services at both the System and regional levels, ensuring more efficient care delivery and cost reduction. Detailed information about next steps will be provided in conversations with affected employees.

Employees with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to managers or the Human Resources department.
