After 22 years of being part of the community, Marshfield Family Restaurant has closed effective July 30.
A sign on the door announcing the closure thanked customers for 22 years. The downtown diner opened in 1996 and was operated by Skender “Skendi” Ademi with wife Sandy Lepack until his retirement in April 2016. Daughter Mandie Lepack took over the operation before ownership transferred back to the couple over a year ago so Mandie could focus on family.
In a public Facebook post, Sandy explained that the closure was due to her husband’s dialysis treatment and difficulty in finding employees willing to work.
The restaurant, located at 443 S. Central Avenue, was known for its soups and hearty portions.
