MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded to a garden shed fire at 1222 East 17th St, Marshfield, on Sunday, April 14, at 10:35 am.
Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to 1222 E. 17 street for a fully engulfed shed fire that is spreading to adjacent sheds. Engines 1 & 3 along with Ambulance 95 responded emergent to the scene. Upon arrival, there was heavy fire and smoke showing from three separate garden sheds behind the residence at 1222 E. 17th St.
The main body of the fire was knocked down within the first five minutes of the scene. The thermal imager was utilized to check for fire extension within the three adjacent structures to the fire, there were no signs of fire extension into the adjacent structures.
The incident, caused by an unattended recreational fire and exacerbated by high wind gusts, serves as a reminder for residents to exercise caution with outdoor fires, especially during windy conditions.
