MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded to an electrical issue at 701 W. Kalsched St. Wednesday morning.
The building is part of the Laird Center for Medical Research at Marshfield Medical Center. Crews arrived on scene at 9 a.m. and quickly determined that there was no threat of the fire spreading.
Workers were working on a refrigerating unit when some of the refrigerant leaked but the fire was immediately contained. Crews remained on scene for about 10 minutes and employees were initially evacuated but let back into the building after a brief amount of time.
