False Alarm Triggered by HVAC System
OnFocus – At around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, fire crews were called out to The Rivers to respond to a fire alarm. Upon arrival, crews noticed that there were no visible flames and patrons were still inside the structure enjoying their drinks.
Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes checking the building but found that a failure in the HVAC unit triggered the alarm.
“A probable issue with the electrical motor inside of an HVAC unit,” the shift commander said. “Maintenance was on scene and we were able to isolate that unit and reset the alarm and they will be working on it [on Friday].”
