MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – At approximately 7:14 AM this morning, the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department responded to a report of a trailer home fire located at 1109 E. Kalsched Street. The home had heavy smoke and fire visible from the south side first-floor bedroom window upon the department’s arrival.
All occupants had evacuated the residence before fire personnel arrived. The homeowner suffered minor heat exposure and smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization.
The fire was contained to the south bedroom, where it caused extensive damage. The Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department acted quickly to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading further throughout the home.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Marshfield Fire & Rescue reminds all residents to practice fire safety and have working smoke detectors in their homes.
