MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Please avoid the 400 block of Anton Ave in Marshfield. Initial reports suggest a potential lightning strike hit a house and caused a gas leak. Residents are reporting a big popping noise and their houses shaking before the incident. Other eyewitnesses report seeing a large bolt of lightning strike the area.
Windows were blown out at a house in the 400 block of N Auburn and in the 400 block of Anton. The smell of gas was reported. Gas in the area has been shut off.
5:22pm – Situation turned over to WE Energies. Marshfield Fire & Rescue has cleared the scene.
