Marshfield girls basketball loses at first-place Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – First-place Stevens Point proved to be too much on the offensive end for the Marshfield girls basketball team to handle as the Panthers put up more than 40 points in both halves and cruised to a 92-63 win on Friday night at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

SPASH is now 12-5 overall and remains undefeated at 7-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Marshfield falls to 4-10 and 2-5 in conference play.

Stevens Point led 44-28 at halftime and put up 48 points in the second half to secure the victory.

Jenna Jakobi had 23 points and Maddie Michaelis chipped in 13 points for the Tigers.

Marshfield hosts Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday.
