FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Marshfield High School graduate Adam Fravert and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh men’s basketball team secured the program’s first-ever national championship, winning the NCAA Division III final over Swarthmore (Pa.) 96-82 on Saturday night.
Fravert, a 2016 graduate of Marshfield and a junior forward for the Titans, had 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots in the victory.
Fravert was 6-for-11 from the field and hit a pair of 3-pointers for Oshkosh (29-3). He started all 32 games this season, averaging 14.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and two blocks per game.
Appleton West graduate Jack Flynn led the Titans with 33 points in the championship game.
UW-Oshkosh advanced to the final with a 104-85 win over Wheaton (Ill.) College on Friday night. Wheaton was one of three teams to defeat the Titans this season.
Fravert had 19 points and eight rebounds in the semifinal victory.
The game will be re-broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 10 p.m. Saturday.
