Marshfield gymnastics team wins home quadrangular, sets another team record

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield gymnastics team set another team scoring record, scoring 138.45 points to easily win its home quadrangular meet on Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

Arcadia was a distant second with 109.7 points, Tomah was third with 99.35 points and Westby finished fourth with 82.425.

Gracie Holland won three events and the all-around title for Marshfield with 36.7 points.

Holland won the uneven bars (9.1), balance beam (9.55) and floor exercise (9.15), and placed third in the vault (8.9).

Emma Haugen won the vault with a score of 9.0 and finished second in the other three events with scores of 8.6 in the uneven bars, 8.825 in the balance beam, and 9.1 in the floor exercise. She was second in the all-around with a score of 35.525 for the Tigers.

Alexis Mushel finished second in the vault with a score of 8.925 for the Tigers.

“We upped the school record again tonight, but a lot!,” Marshfield coach Allie Dryer said. “This is the first time this season we had a varsity no-fall beam set. It made a huge jump in our team score. We still had errors tonight so more room to go up from here.”

Marshfield will compete at the Antigo Invitational on Saturday.
